STYLE
Sandpitt trains wrestlers in Folkstyle wrestling. Sandpitt abides by the rules set forth by USA wrestling. The season for Folkstyle takes place in late fall thru early spring.
DIVISION
All wrestlers are divided by age, into a Division based on the USA wrestling guidelines. Divisions begin with Tot-5years old and under thru Division 5- 15 year olds and under.
WEIGHT CLASS
All wrestlers once divied into their age division will then be divided into a weight class. Wrestlers must stay at, or below this weight to qualify to wrestle at the registered tournament. Weight Class guidelines are set by USA wrestling.
ROOKIE
All first year wrestlers are considered Rookie wrestlers and can register for Rookie and/or Open tournaments. Rookie tournaments often happen during Open tournaments but rookie wrestlers are matched by division and weights and compete together seperate of open tournament wrestlers.
NOVICE
All second year wrestlers are considered Novice wrestlers and can register for Novice and/or Open tournaments. Novice State Tournament will be held on a different weekend and in a different city than Open/Rookie State Tournament.
